Wellbeing is your birth-right, wellbeing is your nature. Being well is a skill, it’s a craft. It’s something we are already doing, but maybe we’re doing it without training or support. Wellbeing is a trainable skill. It’s not even that difficult. All it takes practice and maybe a little encouragement, reflection and support.
I am not a therapist, I simply hold an empathetic, heart-centred space where you can explore whatever discomfort or unhappiness you are currently experiencing. Then together we find insight into what unconscious patterns are operating and attend to them with a non-judgmental presence. In so doing we find a sense of self-connection and self-understanding that is automatically and effortlessly healing.
I draw from my 25 years of personal experience to offer a person-centred, bespoke coaching experience that will support you in finding your own way towards stable and sustainable wellbeing.
I have particular expertise in supporting clients with:
Overthinking
Overthinking is something we do. It is a strategy for us to meet a need we have. In our sessions we explore what your overthinking does for you, and see if we can find other ways to meet that need that aren’t so painful and exhausting. Stopping overthinking isn’t so hard, once we realise that we can’t think our way out of overthinking. We think less by feeling more.
Anxiety
A helpful way of understanding anxiety is as a misguided ally. Anxiety is on our side! It is trying to keep us safe by showing us how scary things can be. It also keeps us safe from uncertainty: we’d rather decide that the future will be certainly scary than embrace the uncertainty of not-knowing. Understanding the maladaptive function of anxiety helps us reduce our addiction to that strategy. We can find the safety we are looking for more effectively elsewhere, and we can make peace with the unknown.
Self-criticism
I know what it’s like to be the endless victim of my own inner critic. It is painful and limiting. Together we can find ways to be with the critic without buying into it’s narrative. We can notice what it’s up to, and how it too is a well-intentioned, but maladaptive strategy. Then, without shame or judgment, we can ease off on the criticism. In this way we begin to cultivate self-love and self-compassion.
Adapting to Neurodivergence
I have years of experience working with individuals with various forms of neurodivergence. I personally exhibit many autistic traits and I deeply empathise with the painful and confusing experience of living with undiagnosed neurodivergence. If you are adjusting to a recent diagnosis, or starting to recognise yourself as neurodivergent, I have the skills and experience to support you in that tender and courageous journey of self-discovery.
How Does it work?
Your first session is free
I know it can be daunting deciding to embark upon your journey of self-discovery. So our first meeting is free of charge and free of obligation. Experiencing it is really the only way to understand how much value there is in such a session.
Online meetings
All our meetings will be online, via Zoom or whatever platform you find most accessible. Having your camera on is preferable, but not required. Your comfort is the priority.
Meet at your own pace
Ideally we would meet up regularly, so as to establish a positive momentum. Although it is entirely up to you how often, or how regularly we meet. I have a 24hr cancellation policy, but outside of that you are free to reschedule or change your mind.
Sliding scale of fees
I wouldn’t be doing what I do if I didn’t consider my service to be of high value. However, I also want my service to be accessible. So I offer a sliding scale:
Abundance – £70/h
Resourced – £50/h
Supported – £30/h
The service I provide is identical at each point in the scale. I trust you to choose the most appropriate level given your financial resources.
“Rob is excellent. He was happy to dive right in day one and assist immediately with urgent tasks. He provides practical help in helping me prioritise work and plan my week—a huge help, as I can just follow the plan. He listens carefully, empathises, and helps me understand my processes. My friends have remarked that I’m less stressed since we started, and I agree! Thank you.”
